Won't you be my Prairie Home Companion?
I'm really looking forward to the new Robert Altman movie A Prairie Home Companion based on Garrison Keillor's famed radio show. It's a behind the scenes look at the last day of a longtime radio broadcast - and all the characters that come along for the ride. With an accomplished cast, as usual, including Meryl Streep, Kevin Kline, Tommy LeJones, Woody Harrelson, Lily and Lindsay Lohan it's sure to be a wild, fast-talking ride. I'm especially excited to see Meryl Streep and Lily Tomlin as country singing sisters Yolanda and Rhonda Johnson. Miss L-Lo plays their suicidal daughter Lola. Sounds like great fodder for a fun film. Keillor himself penned the script so it's sure to be charming like it's inspiration.

I have always been a fan of Altman's loose yet still very calculated style - he sucks you right into the action and you experience it in supersensory surround sound. He always transports the audience to a very specific time and place - a snapshot in a time warp. You feel like there's a complete world that these characters are living in and you're a fly on their very interesting walls.
Freelulu's top 10 Robert Altman must-sees.
Maybe Prairie will be #11.
